Ordulph Arms 7 Porters FC 1 ORDULPH started the game lacklustred and found themselves under pressure from a lively Porters strikeforce; however goalkeeping by Ordulph?s Shaun Maloney managed to hold firm. The home side soon found their feet and from a corner Wayne Downham?s close range shot was handled on the line and Ben Stephens stepped up to blast the ball home. Ordulph then started to play with more vigour and some good quick passing involving Dave Downham and Phillpotts set Stephens away and his cross was inch perfect for Craig Groombridge to fire home. Porters pulled a goal back and Ordulph had to defend in numbers at times but on the counter attack the got a third through David Downham. At half time manager Mark Piper brought on Paul Cowling and Tom Reed and that brought the Ordulph some extra pace and they were soon 4-1 up when Paul Gliddon was sythed down in the box and Stephens again expertly converted the spot kick. Cowling scored the fifth with a cool finish. Ordulph looked stronger defensively with the experience of Pedrick and Dudley and Ashley Woodrow seemed to be a man on a mission winning everything. Stephens collected his third for the Blues sixth. Paul Cowling who looked lively after coming on soon got his well deserved second due to his pace and movement.
