NORTH Tawton entertained Civil Service, who are in the same league as themselves, in the first round of the Powergen Vase.
North Tawton had a much changed side from last week's encounter, both in players and positions.
Adam Hooper was back from Australia and into the second row. Chris Martin and Matt Weekes were on the wing. Joe Meakin Scott in the centre made a welcome return and Mall Fewings filled in at outside half.
North Tawton's newly shaped team held their own well for the first half-hour, but Civil Service were better organised. They scored their first try with scrum half Derek Golden.
On the stroke of half time Andy Harris got another try on the wing to leave the score 12-0 to the visitors.
When North Tawton's Neil Davies at hooker got a neck injury the game was reduced to contested scrums.
Further tries by Richard May, Damien Mulvihill and Scott Sheldon saw the visitors home in a game that never sparked to life.
North Tawton are away this Saturday to Dartmouth, kick-off 3pm.
