Served with fine officers at prison

I READ with interest Jane Honey?s review of my two volumes of ?Dartmoor Prison? in the Times (November 14), and would like to make just one point.

I served at Dartmoor Prison from 1968 to 1992 with just a short break to serve in another prison; yes, I was the historian for about 15 years, but my time at Dartmoor Prison was very much longer when I had the honour to serve under eight governors, and with very many fine officers of the highest quality.
