I WAS saddened to read the allegations made against Mrs Small (Times, January 5) as I am sure she had the best interests of our village at heart. So I wanted to take the opportunity to mention the good work she has done. She has been involved with the parochial church council and worked hard as one of the organisers of the millennium pageant. She was the main fundraiser and organiser of the golden jubilee which was the best event in the area. For several years she ran the local youth club which she was forced to close due to lack of support from adult helpers, and she has served on the parish council for over ten years. Therefore, I would like to give Mrs Small a vote of thanks from the parish of Lamerton for the selfless work she has carried out over the years on our behalf. Name and address supplied
