FOR the fourth year running a Tavistock based self-defence course specifically created for women has been declared a success by participants and instructors alike.

The four-week course was the idea of instructor Umberto Bergonzini, founder of the Tavistock Jujitsu Club.

The women who attended ranged from teenagers to ladies in their 50s, and Umberto said he believed they all felt more self-confident as a result of attending the sessions. Umberto, also, said he was delighted at the positive feedback from those who completed the course.

One course member told Umberto: 'An excellent course that has made me feel much more confident about being able to defend myself in a wide variety of situations. The rape technique is of particular comfort to know. All of the instructors have been kind and helpful.'

'We are definitely running another course, probably mid 2009,' said Umberto. In the meantime, anyone, male or female, interested in learning more about jujitsu can either call him on 07866 720361 or check out the website at http://www.jujitsu.uk.com&quot">www.jujitsu.uk.com" http://www.jujitsu.uk.com">www.jujitsu.uk.com.
