I RECENTLY attended Devon Heartlands Community Forum where we were informed about the plans for the development of the east end of Okehampton. Soon we will be consulted and asked to give our views about these plans.

A new school and a neighbourhood centre are featured on the map. We hope that the school will be delivered this time. My question is:

What would we like to see on the site of the neighbourhood centre?

How about an ecumenical Christian centre? We aleady have too many church buildings in Okehampton I hear you cry! Okay, then; which church building could relocate?

A new site would provide welcome parking space (sadly lacking for some churches) and hopefully meet the needs of the growing community. I think we need to act now to secure the site for future generations.
