Tavistock Seconds 67 Ivybridge Thirds 15 FROM the outset Ivybridge needed their dogged defence against some good, quick play by Tavistock who were rewarded with an early try from Dan Clifton, following a well worked ball. Play continued well into the Ivybridge half for several minutes, but gradually the visitors began to exert some pressure and with a five metre scrum from the Tavistock line the Red and Black supporters became anxious. However, following an interception Tavistock?s no 17 ran the length of the pitch to score. The home side?s lead of 12-0 was quickly extended by a further seven points with a converted try by no 12. Converted tries four and five came from Neil Evans and Dan Clifton respectively to give the first half lead of 33-0. At the beginning of the second half Ivybridge came alive and their no 9 scored, followed by a second from no 12, to make it 33-12. Neil Evans? second try for Tavistock was the result of gritty forward play and Alex Moye slotted over his fifth conversion of the afternoon. Ivybridge replied with a cheeky drop goal to make it 40-15. Alex Moye then chipped through for Tavistock?s seventh try and with a great pass from Ben Neave, Neil Evans made it 52-15. After an hour of play Tavistock loaned Ivybridge a player, due to injuries, and the match was ended after a further ten minutes and tries from Evans, Mark Hennessy and Moye.
