Okehampton Argyle Seconds 3
Seaton Town Seconds 1
THIS was another good result for Argyle - Seaton are riding high and currently third in the league and looking for promotion.
The wind played a big part and Seaton, with the wind, found themselves chasing to many overhit passes which Steve Ausden and Ian Wilson coped with comfortably.
Both sides made few chances in the first half and it was Okehampton who looked the better equipped at the break, having had the more of the ball against the slope and the wind.
The second half saw Okehampton dominate and score their first. It came from a short corner from Daniel Johnson to Ausden and his cross-cum shot found its way to Tim Shaw who stabbed home from close range.
The visitors had two attempts at clearing before the ball hit the back of the net. Okehampton were then caught napping when Seaton replied with an equaliser with a 25-yard snap shot just creeping inside the post.
Okehampton continued to press and got their reward when Lloyd Chapman went on a powerful run linked with a fine one-two with Steve Williams before driving home low from an acute angle with his marker looking to run the ball out.
Seaton reshuffled and threw more men forward but paid the price when another good run from Chapman was brought to an end by a clumsy challenge in the box from an overstreched defence. From the spot-kick Daniel Johnson increased the home side's lead.
Come the final whistle Okehampton looked good value for their win.
This Saturday away to Dunkerswell, 3pm kick-off.
