IN wet, murky conditions in Bullpoint Plymouth, Tavistock seconds hockey team put up a strong show against a well- matched United Services.
Tavistock broke through first with a well-worked move into the D finished by James Thompson. United Services struck back quickly, applying pressure using numerous short corners, from which they finally scored.
Just before the end of the half Tavistock took the lead with some excellent team play from the middle and both sides.
The beginning of the second half saw United Services determined to come away with a win, equalising early on. Tavistock got a goal from some bad play at the United Services back from some excellent running from John Barrat.
But Tavistock lost cohesion and some mistakes crept into their attacking play. United Services were quick to capitalise, putting away some fine running goals.
