A SECOND collision in five weeks has occurred on a remote level crossing in Calstock. A car, driven by a 68-year-old man from Callington, and a train collided on Sunday at 12.26pm on the Gunnislake to Plymouth rail line but no-one was injured. The rural Okeltor crossing on the Tamar Valley Line, which has Give Way signs but no lights or barriers, was the site of a crash on December 8 when a van hit a train. A spokeswoman from Wessex Trains said the incident was being investigated: ?Because there was a similar incident in December we are going to review the crossing arrangements to see if there is anything we can do to stop this happening again,? she said. British Transport Police said the investigation into the December collision, where the van driver was also unhurt, was still under investigation. A spokesman said the only people who would be likely to use this crossing would be locals or someone who was extremely lost because of its remoteness. The train was blocking the road for several hours after the accident occurred while it was examined for any damage. Police said the car was slightly damaged.
