Plymouth and West Devon Active Alarms George Gillan trophy

third round

Staddiscombe Colts B 2

Ordulph Arms 4

SEB Krotke was the hero of the game for Ordulph as he claimed a hat-trick that put the Tavistock side into the next round, where they will play Plymouth team Mount Gould, who were unbeaten all season and top of the premier league. Playing on an almost unplayable pitch, the match was tight and both teams had to fight for control of the game.

Ordulph took the lead against the run of play as Krotke cleverly flicked in Stephens' near post corner. Staddiscome put the visitors under pressure without any creating chances in the first half.

The second half started in similar fashion, but it was the visitors that had the better chances, Stephens forcing a good save and Aggis heading a corner just past the post. Ordulph keeper Sean Moloney was forced to make a superb save with his leg from close range to keep out Staddiscombe.

Soon after Stephens cleverly teed up Krotke, who calmly slotted his second of the match.

The floodgates looked to have opened when Ordulph substitute Dan Behennah then added a third. Staddiscombe did pull a goal back from a well worked move. In the dying stages Krotke was able to scuff in his third and claim a well deserved hat-trick from close range.

The hosts then pulled another goal back in stoppage time. However, it was too late for them to prevent the Ordulph Arms going into the next round.
