The ladies had to endure their club championship in showers and with overcast skies.  However it did not dampen their spirits or take away from the excellent condition of the course.

The turn out for the 27 holes was double that of last year.  The day was made up of a scratch, a handicap  and a best 18 holes of the 27 competition — the scratch winner producing the club champion.

The day's play was followed by a delicious and well earned cream tea making for a fine setting for the presentations.

The best 18 holes of the day was won by Lynn Hazelton, the handicap competition was won by Lin Atkinson with Marcia Jones second and Cherry James in third.

The all important scratch competition was close with Penny Deakin as the overall winner and club Champion with 133, Marcia Jones second on 135 and Lin Atkinson third with 137.

Lin and Nick Atkinson excelled at Stover Golf Club in the Douglas Bader regional mixed Competition and winning themselves a place in the final in Portugal.
