PUPILS and parents who took part in a recent Family Learning animation course at Mary Tavy and Brentor Primary School were thrilled to learn that two of their films had been selected to be shown at the Animated Exeter Festival.

The animations produced by Lauren, Amelie, Eliza and their mothers and Thanae and her grandmother, entitled 'Jonah and the Whale' and 'Laurlie Takes a Bath' were entered for the Young Ones category of the Animated Exeter 2013 New Talent Award, which highlights new talent in animation from across Devon.

Lauren, Amelie, Eliza and their mother's animation was highly commended.

Penny Westlake, from Adult and Community Learning, said: 'This is a fantastic achievement as there are hundreds of entries for this category and only a few films are selected to be shown.'
