A WEST Devon school has unveiled a brand new look, thanks to a generous paint donation from the Dulux Let's Colour Project.
Milton Abbot Primary School has operated in the local community since 1829 and currently has 97 pupils and staff. The school also opens its doors to various local clubs and groups — providing a focal point for local residents.
The school's staff and children were keen to inject some colour into their surroundings and create a bright and vibrant playground.
The children were asked to design the mural, using all the colours of the rainbow and alongside three members of staff and parent volunteers, their mural was painted onto the playground walls over a two week period (see above).
The paint was kindly donated by Dulux Decorator Centres in Plymouth, as part of the Let's Colour mission to add colour to people's lives, after art coordinator and teacher, Jill Hooson, nominated the project online.
Jill said: 'Thanks to the project, the children now have a fun and colourful playground, where they are able to play alongside the creative murals they helped to design. Even if it's raining outside the mural will brighten up the children's days.'
Nikki Harwood, store manager of Dulux Decorator Centres on Regent Street, said: 'We were really pleased to be able to support Milton Abbot Primary school and help them liven up their playground. Choosing the right paint for the job is really important, particularly with outdoor projects and we're happy that pupils at Milton Abbott will be enjoying the colours in their playground for generations to come.'
