A NEW 'self service' kiosk is to be introduced at Tavistock library to enable customers to return, take out and renew books, DVDs and CDs without queueing or waiting for a member of staff to be free.
The kiosks will cut down on waiting times at the counter and provide more choice for customers, but staff will be on hand for anyone who needs help.
Customers will have to insert a library card and follow simple instructions on the touch screen and will also be able to check which items they have on loan.
The library will be closed from today, Thursday, September 11, until next Thursday, to allow the necessary building work and installation of kiosks to take place.
The re-opening with the new self service will be on Friday, September 19.
