Mary Tavy 4

Mevagissey 1

Newly promoted Mary Tavy continued their excellent form in their thrust for the league summit.

With several key players out on the day, Tavy?s search for premier status showed no signs of stuttering.

The first half saw Mevagissey push Tavy all the way and apart from a deft header from Dent which was duly turned over by the visiting keeper action was at a low.

That was until the last 10 minutes of the half when Tavy?s constant pressure saw Paul De-Roche round the keeper to finish off calmly with his left foot.

James Philpott made it two with a glancing header inside the far post and Ben Stephens almost made it 3 rising above the defender only to see his effort well saved again by the keeper.

Mevagissey pulled one back in the second half with a direct free kick which squirmed under the Tavy number 1 but an almost professional like move ensured Tavy installed their two goal lead.

James Coole dragged the ball back almost off the touchline for De-Roche to slam against the cross bar. Andy Pedrick followed in and his goalbound shot was turned into De-Roche?s path for his second. James Coole almost broke the net to make it 4-1 running onto a cutting through ball by Stephens and hitting it first time to give the keeper no possible chance to defend his goal.
