A GROUP of Children's Hospice South West supporters have organised a 'Santas on a Bike' ride to help everyone get in the festive mood and do their bit for charity.

The ride will take place on Saturday, December 7, starting at 10.30am and will go from Lee Mill Industrial Estate in Ivybridge down to Little Harbour Children's Hospice in St Austell.

On route the bikes will make a short parade through Fore Street in Saltash to support festivities in the town leading up to their Christmas lights switch on later that day.

Judy Pride, West Devon fundraiser for CHSW, hopes to get at least 70 riders involved in the event as this is the number of families who are being supported at Little Harbour to date.

She said: 'Little Harbour is making a real difference to local families who need a wonderful place to enjoy the normal things that most families take for granted. Funds raised at events like this make a huge difference to the support and care we can offer, particularly at Christmas time.'
