FATHER Christmas will be out and about visiting Okehampton and the surrounding area over the next couple of weeks, when he makes house-to-house collections with Okehampton Round Table

Members from the Round Table will help Father Christmas, who will be aboard his sleigh, collecting money for local good causes.

Children will have the chance to meet Father Christmas and listen to the festive music as they watch his illuminated float drive through the streets.

All money collected will go back into the community and is distributed by Okehampton Round Table to worthy causes throughout the year.

The float collections will begin on Saturday, December 12 and start around 4pm until 8pm.

Father Christmas will travel down Exeter Road and visit the various side estates.

On Sunday, December 13 the float can be found in North Tawton. It will be back in Okehampton on Tuesday, December 15, Wednesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 17.

On Saturday, December 19 Father Christmas and his sleigh will visit Hatherleigh and then move on to Sticklepath and South Zeal on Sunday, December 20.

Father Christmas will return to Okehampton on Monday, December 21, Tuesday, December 22 and Wednesday December 23. 

Members of Okehampton Round Table would like to remind people it can take up to two hours for Father Christmas to get round all the roads and that weather permitting, they will do their very best to make sure they can keep to the plan.

Members also expressed thanks to all those who came to see Father Christmas in the Red Lion Yard on Dickensian Evening, which helped raise a total of £91.
