SAMPFORD Courtenay is looking spick and span after residents and parish councillors met for their annual spring clean on Saturday (May 26).

The small but enthusiastic group picked up litter that had been dropped out of cars, pulled weeds, did some strimming, washed road signs and generally gave the village a once over.

Parish council clerk Marion Pratt said other residents who could not take part because they were away had also promised to do their bit too over the coming weeks.

‘It was also suggested that it would be nice if parishioners would like to “adopt” the patch of village outside their home and generally keep it tidy and weed and litter free,’ she said.

‘Let us know if you think this is a good idea and a workable option.

‘A big thank you to all those who helped on Saturday and thank you to Alison and Alice at The Cider Vat for our glass of cider and pasty once we had finished.’
