St Dominick 2

Gunnislake 1

A GOAL 60 seconds from the end of extra time saw a delighted St Dominick grab victory and avoid the lottery of a penalty shootout.

Manager Geoff Turner-Moore returned to the Gunnislake starting line up to replace the injured Ken Ord. Darren Smalley also came in to the team in the absence of Stuart Wakenshaw, and with keeper Andy Woodward available Mark Southcott returned to his more accustomed outfield duties.

Gunnislake started slowly and conceded, from their perspective, a soft goal in the opening exchanges. But on 15 minutes they levelled. Turner-Moore?s free kick was headed on by Neil Kinger for Nathan May to convert from eight yards.

For the remainder of the 90 minutes and throughout extra time the game was well

contested with little between the sides. St Dominick scored their all important second goal thanks to some excellent approach play that left their striker with a simple close range conversion.

There is a return to league action this Saturday when Gunnislake visit Pensilva for a 2.30pm kick-off.
