Exeter Saints 4

Tavistock Ladies 1

TAVISTOCK took the lead with a superbly struck goal and fine run from Lisa Curtis.

A breakaway goal caught Tavistock on the hop and at half time the scores were level.

Tavistock welcomed back Janie Sivyer in midfield from suspension, who slotted back in with confidence. Candy Capeling and Wendy Stephens cleared up most of the attacks with Rachel Galvin, Aileen Ismail and Belinda Stephens in support.

Exeter slipped through a ball that went straight out of play. However, the attacker played on, crossed it, and the goal was allowed to stand.

Tempers began to get heated and shortly after Exeter scored again.

Tempers flared again when Curtis was kicked off the ball. When the retaliation came she was promptly booked.

A goalmouth scramble where Tavistock could not clear the ball resulted in the final goal.

Despite constant battling from Kirsty Jones and Julie McGowan, Tavistock could not get back into the game.

Lady of the match: Sue Hammond.

Tavistock Ladies play their last match of the season on March 26 at Langsford Park against Torbay, 11am kick-off.

This will be Sue Hammond's last match as manager, captain and goalie due to retirement from the game, and she wishes Tavistock Ladies all the best for the future.
