EMERGENCY services, rescue teams and other organisations that help to keep everyone safe were on hand at the popular ‘Safety on Dartmoor Day’ on Saturday.

The event, now in its fourth year, was held in Lydford Sports Field and provided a larger venue for the public to have the opportunity to look around fire engines, police vehicles and ambulances, plus meet local firefighters, police officers, cliff rescue and Dartmoor rescue personnel.

There were live demonstrations, an opportunity to meet the canine heroes involved in safety and rescue and visitors even had the chance to go on emergency simulator machines.
