Bideford Blues U12s 1

Okehampton Argyle U12s 2

BIDEFORD made several early attacks but good defending from Scott Bradfield, Joe Turner and Kerry Bishop prevented them from scoring.

The majority of the half was played in the centre of the pitch with both teams battling hard. Good passing by Ashley Clark gave the ball to Carl Poynton who made a determined run and cleared a defender to slot the ball past the keeper.

The goal lifted Okehampton and hard work by Chris Holland earned them a corner ? Wayne Atherton powered the ball into the back of the net to give Okehampton a two-goal lead as the half ended.

Bideford started the second half with a new lease of life but due to an injury and no substitute, they were playing with ten men. Okehampton

failed to capitalise on this and almost conceded a goal if it were not for great defending by Scott Tremain and multiple saves by goalkeeper Simon Lines.

Bideford?s hard work paid off and a lone player among three defenders somehow managed to score.

The game drew to a close with Okehampton pressuring the home side. Lawrence Waldron continued to push forward and was unlucky not to score.

Man of the match: Alex Osman.
