WEST Devon-based children's charity CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) is looking for runners to take part in the Tavy 13 half marathon.
The charity, which provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children, has been selected as an official charity partner for this year's race which takes place on March 22.
Event fundraiser Jo Smith-Scott said: 'We're delighted to be a charity partner for this fantastic event.
'Tavistock Athletic Club have kindly awarded us 10 free places and we'd love to fill every one.
'Our mascot Mas the bear will also be making an appearance on the day supporting the children taking part in the primary schools challenge and fun run.
'There is no minimum sponsorship to take part, we simply ask runners to raise as much as they can for CHICKS and to help us provide happy memories and experiences for disadvantaged children.
'If you know someone who's thinking of running the Tavy 13, why not encourage them to run it for CHICKS?'
This will be the fifth year that the race has taken place and runners can look forward to a new route, which takes in Dartmoor scenery to the east of the town.
