RUNNING out on the pitch at Twickenham, in front of 50,000 people, is the stuff sporting dreams are made of. For Calum Pillivant, who plays for Okehampton Rugby Club?s U12 side, dreams are set to become a reality. Calum is to be a mascot at Twickenham when the Barbarians play newly crowned world champions South Africa on December 1. The teams will be packed with some of rugby?s top superstars with South Africa fielding the World Cup?s leading try scorer Bryan Habana and one of the brightest talents in international rugby, Francois Steyn. Australia?s Matt Giteau and New Zealander Jerry Collins will line up for the Ba-Bas, alongside English rugby legend Jason Robinson, playing his last rugby game after an incredible career. Calum won a competition through the Junior England Supporters? Club by correctly answering that South Africa are the current Rugby World Cup holders. Not only will he be a mascot but he also has four tickets to the game and his family are looking forward to a great day out. In true Barbarians tradition, Calum will be wearing his Okehampton socks when he runs out onto the pitch. Calum has played rugby for four years. He is a prop and his favourite player is England prop and former Okehampton player, Julian White. He recently captained the U12s to a 63-0 victory, scoring two tries in the process. His mum said he was ?over the moon? when he found out that he had won the competition. He will be able to keep the shirt he will be wearing when he runs onto the pitch ? but hopes he doesn?t have to hold hands with any of the players!
