THERE IS an opportunity to watch an entertaining game of rugby and find out what a thriving community club can offer at a special open afternoon being held at Tavistock Rugby Club this month.
Tavistock RFU are holding the event at their Sandy Park base in Trelawney Road on Saturday August 22.
The first and second teams are playing pre-season friendly training matches against OPM Plymouth during the afternoon.
Lisa Hair, TRFC social chairman, said: 'We are taking this opportunity to get as many old, current and prospective members to come along for the afternoon and
watch some senior rugby, and also maybe take part in a friendly game of tag
rugby with mixed teams and ages.
'We will also be holding a fun kicking competition for the juniors, there will be a barbecue by Dukes Catering, and a bar with musical entertainment.
'Even if you have not been to the club at all, or for a few years, come along and see for yourselves what we do and how we do it!'
The clubhouse is available for hire for weddings, parties, dinners etc at a very reasonable cost and has in-house caterers, Dukes, and friendly staff behind the bar.
Lisa said: 'You will be assured of a very warm welcome on August 22, so come along and meet the players, the social team and find out how you can become a member or vice president of this really friendly club.'
