THE PRINCE of Wales will be opening the new Village Centre in Princetown on September 11.

The Duchy of Cornwall has contributed to the regeneration of Princetown where over £6-million has been spent since 2003.

The prince will also perform the official opening of the new Duchy Square Centre for Creativity in the village, and visit the Met Office at Exeter.

The village centre is the hub of the community and includes the pre-school, the children's centre, the doctor's surgery and indoor sports and events facilities.

Centre manager Alex Fuoco-Lang said it was very exciting that the prince was opening the facility: 'We are really forward to it,' he said. 'We have invited most of the big funders down and hope there will be lots going on on the day.'
