THE seventh annual Chillaton Fun Run and Walk saw a good turnout of runners, walkers and dogs, who enjoyed the route along the shady lanes on a surprisingly sunny day. The event is held in memory of the late Roy Passmore and organised by Bridget Passmore. After the torrential rain on previous days she said they were really lucky that the weather had been so kind to them. Approximately 70 took part and the first man home was Andrew Vernon. The first woman home was Emma Passmore. The children's races were won by Sam Eaton and Natalie Stephens and medals were awarded to all children who finished the run. The Callington branch of St John Ambulance were on hand during the race and they received a donation of £115 from the money raised by the event, which will go towards a new defibrillator.
