The first Saturday mobile library service in Devon will be launched this Saturday — Valentine's Day.
Library users at Yelverton are invited to come along and find out more about the mobile library, which will also be stopping for an enhanced length of time.
Mobile library stops are usually around half an hour, but the new Saturday stop at Yelverton will be for three hours.
Executive member for culture Cllr Sheila Hobden said: 'This is a pilot scheme and if it works well we hope to roll out Saturday mobile library stops across Devon.'
The mobile library will be at Yelverton Car Park between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
Existing members and those who want to join the library are welcome to come along and see what the service offers.
County Cllr Roy Connelly said: 'This stop time should be much better for families and busy people that work.
'I am looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday and hope the mobile proves a popular attraction. I think, given the day, romantic novels might be much in demand!'
There are eleven mobile libraries in Devon visiting over 1,000 locations — almost every parish in the county. Visitors can borrow and order books, spoken word cassettes and CDs.
Anyone who visits to library at Yelverton on Saturday will be in for a free chocolate surprise!
