OVERNIGHT resurfacing work on the A30 Woodleigh to Whiddon Down, near Okehampton is taking place this week. A five-mile stretch of road westbound is affected and traffic is being diverted off Woodleigh junction onto the old A30 through Cheriton Bishop and Crockernwell, rejoining the A30 at Whiddon Down. The road is being closed from 8pm to 6am to ensure the safety of roadworkers and roadusers but will re-open again overnight on Saturday. The new surface will reduce noise for people living and working nearby and provide a smoother surface for drivers. Diversion routes will be clearly signed and drivers are reminded to take care and obey speed limits when following diversion routes.
