IT was the stuff of nightmares for any teddy bear who wasn?t feeling brave last Saturday, but thankfully divine intervention was on the side of the teddies. Seventy five bears took part in a fundraising event, zip-wiring from the top of the tower and parachuting from the lower tower at All Saints Church, Okehampton. The teddy bear jump was organised to raise funds jointly for the church refurbishment fund and the primary school PTFA. Rector of Okehampton, the Rev Stephen Cook said the event went really well. ?So far, more than £1,300 has been collected in sponsorship and a good time was had by all,? he said. The church is currently carrying out a big renovation project to make the building more accessible to its users.
