BUMPER cheques for £7,000 in total were presented to two charities, following a sponsored ride between Cornwall and Dorset. The horseback ride, involving six riders and a back up, was between Launceston Castle and Lulworth Castle and was organised by Michael Bickell, of Lewdown ? the ride took four and a half days and covered 120 miles during August. The two charities benefiting from the ride were the Exeter Leukaemia Fund and the Plymouth and District Leukaemia Fund, who were given £3,500 each. Taking part in the ride were Michael Bickell, Amanda Denny, Deborah Kivell, Harriet Kivell, Nick Fry and Heather Parr ? back-up was Zoe Bickell.
