A RETIREMENT group that closed a couple of years ago due to lack of volunteers is being revived.
The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship, Tamar/Tavy Group, will be holding an informal get together on Thursday, September 10 from 12.30pm in the Function Room of the Ordulph Arms, Tavistock. There will be a free buffet.
All retired civil servants living in the Tavistock and West Devon area are eligible to participate in the Tamar/Tavy Group. Anyone who is interested in enjoying activities such as going on day trips to places of interest, eating out or listening to speakers is invited to go along to the event to find out more.
The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship is a national charity created specifically for the benefit of retired civil servants. There are more than 300 social groups in the UK, offering a variety of interesting activities and friendship.
Once a year various local groups meet for a lunch and inter-group quiz and look forward to a Tamar/Tavy Group forming a team once more.
