THE Chestnut Appeal's fourth annual sponsored walk takes place around Burrator Reservoir this Sunday, September 12, starting at 10am.
The flat, four-mile walk is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
The Chestnut Appeal has recently been able to buy two headlight systems which are already in use at Derriford Hospital and at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
This equipment, the first of its kind to be used in the UK, will help train the next generation of prostate cancer surgeons and make surgery quicker and easier.
The charity has also funded a second specialist prostate cancer nurse at Derriford.
This new nurse is a contact point for all patients and relatives with queries about treatments and ongoing care.
David said: 'The walk is a really friendly and relaxed occasion and our end of walk refreshments have in the past proved a huge success. It's also a great way to help raise funds and awareness.'
The walk is open to all and dogs are very welcome. Registration is just £10 which includes a T-shirt and the end of walk snack.
