Rescued from the River Dart

THE fire and rescue services were called to the aid of a man who had fallen into the River Dart at Dartmeet last Friday.

Ambulance Control requested the assistance of the fire service to rescue the man, who had fallen in the river and had crawled out onto a rock having sustained a broken leg and hand.

The ambulance crew were at the scene but were unable to reach the man safely.

The man was rescued from stepping stones by the fire service crews using six dry suits and mud mats. They assisted the ambulance personnel to transfer the man to the air ambulance.
