AN EAST Cornwall property featured on Channel Four's 'Country House Rescue' will be opening its gardens to the public again this spring.

Pentillie Castle near St Mellion will open on March 14, April 4 and 5 and May 3 prior to the screening of an hour long special on the success of the renovation.

The Pentillie gardens were designed by Humphry Repton in 1809 and draftsman/designer Lewis Kennedy, but fell into neglect and their rediscovery has been described as having more significance than Heligan.

The house has now been fully restored into an exclusive venue for hire and work has begun on the gardens which include the kitchen gardens and the American gardens, which are a profusion of colour from early spring.

Opening times are 11am until 4pm and admission is £5, free to children under 16.

Refreshments will be available and private tours of the house and garden can be arranged for groups of 15 or more.
