OKEHAMPTON section of the Dartmoor Rescue Group were called into action in Cornwall last week and successfully found a 60-year-old man who had been missing for two days.

The man from Newquay was found in a woodland area near Perranporth. The search had started on the evening of Saturday, May 3, and after extensive searches for 24 hours, concern for his safety was growing.

The search resumed last Monday, May 5, when the Okehampton section co-ordinated the rescue effort. Within one hour of the start of the search, members of the Okehampton team found the man in an injured condition. He was stretchered to a waiting helicopter and taken to Treliske Hospital.
