THE vandalised Princetown playpark has been repaired thanks to the volunteer services of residents from the Dartfordleigh Residential Home at Postbridge.

Vandals have repeatedly attacked the play area which is on ground by Princetown Primary School.

They have caused damage to swing-seats, benches, gates and a large section of 'living fence' made out of willow which was planted two years ago.

Dartfordleigh care and development manager, Robbie Ryder, took seven residents along to Princetown to do the fence repairs.

'We have links with the community in Princetown and our residents were pleased to be helping out,' said Mr Ryder.

'The beauty of using willow is that everybody can contribute to repairing the damaged area. Everybody has the ability to input something.'

Unfortunately, when the residents were finishing the job on Monday, they left the home's digital camera by the fence only to find it had gone missing.

'We had lots of pictures on it. All those images are records and as important to us as the camera itself,' said Mr Ryder.

'If we don't get it back we have lost so much more than simply the camera itself.'

If anyone can help with the missing digital camera — which was silver/grey and in a grey case — could they please contact Dartfordleigh on (01822) 880229 or the police station.
