RED Nose Day comes to Roadford Lake this month when a wine and wisdom evening will be held in aid of the appeal. The event. on Friday March 11, starts at 7.30pm at the restaurant. Teams of four to six are invited to join the fun and raise money for Comic Relief. Team entry is £24 and this includes two bottles of wine and nibbles and a host of brain teasing and testing questions. There are prizes for the top three teams and a wooden spoon for the losers. On Thursday March 24 the Lakeside Restaurant is host to its first lecture lunch with Michael Bowman an independent auctioneer specializing in antiques and collectables. Starting at 11.30am Mr Bowman invites people to bring along a small collectable or antique; maybe an artefact which poses a question as to its use and will base his talk on the items. The talk will last approximately one hour and will be followed by a two-course lunch and coffee in the restaurant. Tickets, £15 a person payable on the day, must be pre-booked.
