THE Friends of Okehampton Community Hospital held a record- breaking event on Saturday, September 5 with their most successful coffee morning ever.

Over £750 was raised at the event held at Elmfield in Northlew.

The event was hosted by the chairman Martin Perry who said afterwards how delighted he was.

Mr Perry said: ‘It just shows how much our community appreciates all the good work done in our hospital and the services based there.

‘Only this week we have agreed another £1,000 worth of equipment for use by the community nursing team for blood tests in the patient’s home environment.’

New friends are being encouraged to sign up at £10 per annum.
