THE talented young musicians of Mount House School gave a recital of choral and instrumental music at St Peter's Church, Lamerton, to raise money for the Church Tower Restoration Fund.

In addition to the school's Chapel Choir, which was supported by organist David Crocker, six youngsters gave solo instrumental performances of pieces ranging from Dvorak's 'Song to the Moon' to Henry Mancini's 'Moon River.' The recital opened with solos by Freddie Jayarajah playing the trumpet and India Lewis on the violin. Then after the Chapel Choir came three more solos, by Gemma Robbins on the flute, India Lewis again, and Jamie Farrington on the tuba. Further performances by the choir were followed by 'cello and vocal solos and a memorable flute and 'cello duet by Gemma Robbins and Meg Hughes-Chamberlain.

The Chamber Choir closed the performance, which raised more than £550 for the restoration fund.
