THE summer may have been somewhat of a washout so far, but that will not stop the 1st South Zeal Scout Group celebrating the season in style.

The group is holding a barbecue and celebration party on Tuesday, July 17 to thank the many charity and community groups that have contributed to Scout funds.

The party is also a thank you and farewell to Tina Adams, who stands down from her post as Cub Leader after more than five years in the role, and assistant cub and scout leader Vashti Jewell, who is heading off to university.

The group is inviting any past cubs, scouts and leaders to join them at the party. Scouting awards will also be presented at the party.

The event takes place in South Tawton Scout Hut from 6pm to 7.30pm.
