WITH the season of giving upon us the different faculties at Okehampton College have been putting their best efforts into raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness. The two faculties that pledged the most money received two very special prizes. Daryll Chapman, Okehampton College principal, was the first prize and vice principal, Derek Brett, was second prize. They both agreed to donate an hour of their time to the winning faculties. Coming out on top, after raising more than £100, was the cleaning department. Boasting the largest total they were the lucky recipients of Mr Chapman who, after being kitted out in an apron and rubber gloves, proceeded to clean the floor and basins of the boys? toilets. When asked if he had any comments on his new line of work, Mr Chapman said: ?It?s a change from my regular position ? but I find it very rewarding.? The cookery staff took second place and promptly set Mr Brett away on the least enjoyable part of catering ? the washing up!
