WEST Devon Connect's outreach surgeries will continue to showcase their partner organisations with their special themed events throughout the coming year.
The surgeries bring together many different agencies and organisations into a local venue, taking public services into the heart of the borough's more rural communities.
Every month, one or more of the West Devon Connect partners will be taking a lead role at each outreach surgery where, as always, a West Devon Borough Council outreach worker will be available to assist with any enquiries.
Devon Wheels 2 Work step into the spotlight during April. The not-for-profit company loans out scooters, motorcycles and mopeds enabling beneficiaries to get on their feet and ultimately afford to buy their own transport.
This means that people who lack public transport in their area are able to get to places of training, education and employment.
Devon Wheels 2 Work is funded by many organisations, including Devon County Council.
Other organisations taking part in the themed events for 2010 are in May, NHS Stop Smoking Service and Active Villages; in June, Community Voluntary Services and Carers Devon Link; in July, Devon County Council Family Information Service and Library Service; in August RNID for the deaf and hearing and West Devon Borough Council Waste Reduction Services; in September, Age Concern Devon and Time for Life; in October, Citizens Advice Bureau; in November, Devon Care and Repair, South West Water and West Country Housing and in December, Devon and Somerset Fire Service.
