WE are so lucky in Tavistock to have a top class sporting facility such as the Crowndale set-up for footballers.

As a strong supporter of Tidy Tavi I cannot understand why young people can leave unacceptable amounts of litter all over the pitches and along the river, when residents of this town try their hardest to keep it litter-free. This weekend alone, cans, bottles, plastic bags, containers, school shirts, tie and trousers were left strewn across Crowndale. It just so happened that a bag contained a full name and address on it which has been forwarded to the police to deal with.

Somehow we have to re-educate the next generation to seeing and feeling that is is actually wrong and damaging to drop litter. Thank you.
