AN EARTHQUAKE scenario in Berkshire was the challenge for one BBC TV presenter when he went training with Okehampton-based rescue charity Rapid UK recently.
The charity will feature in the children's programme 'Against All Odds' which is due to be screened in the spring.
Presenter Jake Humphrey undertakes a series of challenges for the programme, which is like a children's version of 999, and with Rapid UK he is thrust into an earthquake situation where he looks for 'survivors' beneath the debris with search and rescue equipment.
Rapid UK director Graham Payne said the series would also feature a challenge with the RNLI and Fire and Rescue Service.
'The presenter said ours was the hardest challenge so far,' said Mr Payne.
Other news from Rapid UK this month includes its recognition as an 'Investor in People' for its commitment to training and services to members and its attendance at 'Celebrate China Day' at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London, as special guests of the Taiwan Ambassador.
