SOUTH West Lakes Trust rangers have been on probation recently, teaming up with Plymouth Probation Service to carry out gardening work at Burrator Reservoir, near Yelverton.
Plymouth Probation Service has been helping the Trust?s rangers to carry out a marathon thinning-out of overgrown rhododendron around Burrator Lodge. This garden restoration project will continue throughout January.
Ranger Glyn Bradbury said: ?It looks unsightly at the moment but this management is necessary for access to the lodge and to maintain the garden for amenity and conservation purposes.?
The Trust say their long term objective is to remove wild rhododendron and maintain the species rhododendron as smaller shrubs, which aids restoration to their original glory.
