RESIDENTS of Moonsfield in Callington have rallied together and created their own car park after the parking situation got so bad.

Fifteen families decided to seek permission from a businessman to lease a piece of wasteland he owns at the bottom of Tavistock Road.

After getting the go-ahead from the landowner, discussions took place with Cornwall Council, the police and Cornwall councillor for Callington Andrew Long to help the project come to fruition.

There are now 16 car parking spaces and a grant has been applied for from Cornwall Council to help pay for a barrier.
