AN open garden day in Crapstone raised an amazing £1,100 for the Children's Hospice South West last Sunday.
It is the fifth year that David and Jenny Miles have opened their gardens to the public.
'It was absolutely fantastic,' said Linda Downing, chairman of the Buckland Monachorum Friends of Hospice South West group.
Russell Palmer of the Rame Peninsula Male Voice Choir is arranging a concert in aid of the Hospice.
The choir will be joined by St Joseph's School Senior Chamber Choir for a performance this Saturday, June 10, at 7.30pm in Tavistock Methodist Church.
Tickets are £3 per adult, £2.50 for children and senior citizens and can be obtained by calling 01822 810420.
All proceeds will go to Children's Hospice South West — the hospice depends entirely on voluntary funding and costs £1.5-million a year to run.
