?BABY, you can drive my pram? ? will be the call when Sticklepath hosts the annual charity pram race next week. Running for more than 25 years, the Sticklepath Inter Pub Pram Race is held over a course of three and a half miles round the three villages by the Taw, on Sunday, October 1. The start ?pub? will be the St Austell Brewery vintage van in Reddaway?s Yard at Zeal Head at 11.30am, where all takings are for charity while the judging takes place. All collections from the event go to local charities, with priority to youth organisations. Teams must consist of five members all of whom must be aged at least 18 with one team member remaining in the pram at all times while travelling between pubs. Race co-ordinator Herman Elson, who has been competing since the first pram race, will yet again be among the field in his pedigree pram. Local residents are invited to come and cheer the entrants around the course and help boost the collection.
